Community League Day — September 18, 2010

Come out and celebrate our beautiful and diverse neighborhoods by participating in an multidisciplinary and interactive arts event, featuring local artists, musicians, dancers, story tellers, magicians and clowns. Entertainment and fun for everyone!

If you are interested in participating as an artist, musician, writer or performer, please see the Call to Artists for Expression of Interest as well as the Application Form. Deadline for submission of applications is July 31, 2010.

Capital City Clean Up — Adopt a Block

2010 Big Bin Events

In support of Capital City Clean Up, the Waste Management Branch will once again run Big Bin events in 2010. Big Bin events allow residents to dispose of household items too large for regular collection at no cost to the resident. Twelve of these popular week-end events are scheduled for various locations throughout the city as outlined in the attachment.
As information, the 2009 Big Bin Events accepted 2,103 tonnes of material, the equivalent weight of 161 ETS buses from residents.

Community League Memberships

Be aware that for most community league and minor sports programs commencing after September 1, 2009, a 2009-2010 community league membership is required. All 2008-2009 memberships expire on August 31, so purchase your 2009-2010 membership before registering for any community league-affiliated program. Memberships cards for the new year beginning September 1, 2009 are now available.
